OH GOD, HELP ME!!!

Post by CBULLY »

First off, I'm very sorry if this question is posted in the wrong section as I'm very new here. Hopefully it is though, anyway I found Cofree's tut on flashing xbox 360 with iprep 8.8 and thought it was the most detailed video out there. While attempting to do so, for whatever reason my xbox turned off during the process, now I have an error 74 when on. Only one light is flashing. I never even mad it to the firmtool! Aslo there is nowMisrosoft splash screen just the error 74!

The xbox has no hdmi and is a samsung ms28 drive manufactured in 2006!
Please help!!!

E74: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement (see error 0102)

when you were doing your flash did you have the a/v cable hook up
and i take it you were powering the dvd drive with the console(i dont do that)

if you put it back together and hook everything up will it do anything
or
does it just give you the e74

you should keep in mind that a 2006 console
is old as far as 360 is concerned and taking it apart and stuff could have done some of this also.

;)
no this was not posted in the right place
ill move it to the right spot. :D

when doing the flash I had the av connect to the system but not to the tv, I powered the drive the console. after the failure I'm posting, when reconnected (everything) the system just goes straight to the e74 message and if i leave that screen up for like 5 minutes I get two red flashing lights! (if that means anything) I have also switched the av plug and I still get that message!

yea
i think your console failed in the mod
e74 is not a flash error
its a hardware error.
you can try a xclamp fix
but
i dont put a lot of faith in the xclamp myself.

so the actually problem is "e74 because of failed flash"? lastly, why don't you put a lot of faith in the xclamp? (just trying to prepare and know ALL possiblities of what I'm getting into before making anymore purchases.) :? Also has there been any success for this problem.... sorry to bother you dude!

well the thing is the firmware could be messed up
but
the error 74 is a hardware error
so the xclamp could fix that error

even after that you may get a error 65 or 66
that would be firmware error.

there are some that can do a xclamp with no problems for many months
but
i have never been able to get more than a week or so from one.

i would think it should be ok
as long as it was not writing into the flash when you lost power.
