Strange Error Code

Hi Guys

I have a year old console just out of warranty that is showing a strange error code.
It is flashing 2 red lights at the top and then 2 red lights at the bottom alternatively.
Whilst the top lights are red, the bottom lights are green and visa versa.
The console is sitting flat and not standing up.
It's a Falcon motherboard and I have swapped the RF board but to no avail

Anybody got any clues?

what is the secondary error code?to find this power on 360,wait for the red lights to appear,then press and hold the sync button.while holding sync press the eject button 4 times.make note of number of red lights per eject press
4 red lights =0
3 =3
2=2
1=1
so for instance if sequence is 4,4,3,1 then code is 0031

this will help to solve your query.also any error showing on screen when 360 powered up?

There is no secondary error code
Pressing the sync and eject buttons do nothing on this fault and there is no display on the TV screen either, it's blank

Yours would be the first that I heard of with that one....take a vid of that....thats cool! I would try if you haven't already different cords av/power....see what that does...worth a try.

Not to sure about this error. I read somewhere that you should check to make sure that the power connector is fully seated.

Maybe our local Microsoft Certified Repair Man knows

After searching the net for 2 days, all I could find were forum posts about how its a hoax... The best answer I found was:

"if you have 2 flash red and 2 flashing green lights then you've accidently placed your xbox in disco mode " So I dont know, maybe its party time?

Got a little update on this problem
Having got nowhere on this and obviously not having the first clue what is wrong with this console I thought I would speak to MS
After I described the problem I was told that they didn't have much information on this fault but that it is an extremely rare occurance
Maybe that's MS speak for 'we're not telling you what is wrong' who knows
If I find any more out I'll let you know

I read somewhere on another forum about someone encountering the same error. I'm sure they were fiddling with downgrading/kernel hacking though...

Some very random thoughts on your box,

You could always sell this as a "RARE" 360 on eBay and not be lying. With the proper wording/long copy you justmight fetch some bucks for this one....I have seen quite a few broken boxes but never this version of a broken box. BTW thank you for the post and VID...IMO it must have to do with solder bridging somewhere on the MOBO.

You also might be the first on youtube with this! I could not find another.

I know what we have to offer don't help much and I would guess your box should be considered for the 360 hall of fame....

Maybe you should consider writing a letter and sending out the same letter over and over again to M$ as I am pretty sure someone there would be interested in having your box to disect.
