Benq woes
Hi all, the lad next door has just brought me his benq drive in, he's tried to update it but says he got stuck at the dben stage when asked to name the backup , paniced and restarted his pc.
Ive hooked it up to mine but it looks like its stuck in vendor mode and when i run it through iprep it says no atapi device present. He's gave me his original backup but is it game over?
I've tried using dosflash on it but so far no joy. Any help much appreciated.
Tried dosflash e ec00 1a0 1 4 d8 0 but can't seem to get past the status 0x80. Tried the 2 second trick but im close to giving up. RAAAAHHHH

Re: Benq woes
Try hooking it up to Jungle Flasher on a port you know you've used before to flash a drive and run the outro/reset even if JF doesn't detect the drive. More times than not JF will send the command anyways and the Benq will be revived.

Re: Benq woes
Tried it earlier technoe, jungle doesnt want to play at all. i've run it through the l-o-eras command (yeah its a benq but meh can't get any worse) and its now allowing me to eject it so i used dosflash to write the bencfw.bin to it and recognises that its a benq but doesnt populate the firmware when i check it through jungle . still gets stuck on ff51 status no matter how many times i try and erase it. as soon as i run it through iprep it gets stuck again. I'm close to chucking it outta the window.
Edit: Sorted..when i was turning the ck3 off when prompted by the switch on my ck3 the status wasn't moving but when i yanked the molex out and reinserted it it went to status 73 (i was close to pulling my hair out by then) used dosflash to erase the drive, then dosflash again to write the cfw firmware over to it and wooooot wooot its playing backups. Bloody nightmare. Think there must be a problem with my ck3 switch even though it turns the blue led off it must still be trickling through. Grrrr

Re: Benq woes
Cheers Lee, Yeah noticed that company before. Good idea but i'm going to ring shopneo first and try for a replacement as there have been other people with the same problem :
http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48365" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and team xecuters website have recommended sending it back to the supplier if you have the same prob. Fingers crossed.
Edit: just rang shopneo and they couldn't have been nicer. as soon as i explained the problem they said send it straight back and they'll issue me a new replacement as they have had lots of returns with the same problem. Nice one.

Re: Benq woes
Cheers guys, that'll be the last time i trust an led. Would have saved 3 and a half hours of pulling my hair out (and i haven't got much to start with) if i'd clicked on and tested it with a multimeter. I'm being treat like a hero from the lad next door though which reminds me why we put ourselves through this stuff.. well the free case of beer is appreciated too..hah

Quick update: Sent ck3 lite back to shopneo On Monday (without the dvd lead and the r232) and have received a nice new ck3 (fully sealed with both leads
) this morning. Happy again.
