NeoRio wrote:I guess it's suggested to use v9 for flashing from this point on?
i do
NeoRio wrote:Are there any tutorials for the newer 1.0.1?
not that i know of
NeoRio wrote:I'm a bit concerned also, because it seems as if ABGX360 is actually modifying the ISO as it checks it?
it dont mod the iso when it checks but it will mod the iso if you let it.
NeoRio wrote:AutoFix was successful!" Maybe that's normal...but it sounds like it did something to the ISO?
yea
it may have .
NeoRio wrote:CoFree, what programs do you use for Stealth checking now? Do you only use ABGX360 and Kreon Checker?
I use abgx360 for the stealth check and to fix the ss angle if its bad.
yes i still us kreon checker(not for long) abgx360 will auto fix a bad ss angle and im going to start doing that.
The one thing i did was under the options tab i put a check in the "disable all online functions"
as long as you have a backup from "A IN HAND ORIG GAME" i would not let abgx360 change anything other than the ss angle.

I feel so bad!--I'm afraid I'm having trouble with flashing my BenQ drives again. I've spent so many hours trying to do this when I know it's only a 5 minute job!
(Was iXtreme 1.6 supposed to release yesterday? I looked, but didn't find it.)
I received my CK3 Lite version a few days ago, it came in a timely fashion. I spent a few hours last night trying to flash again, but it hasn't worked out yet.
First I struggled with trying to get my (2nd) USB flash drive to boot. I formatted it to be bootable and it seemed that it went well, but my computer would not boot from it, no matter how much I tried. I did every BIOS tweak imaginable, I set it to ONLY boot from USB, etc...but it would not boot from the flash drive. So I reverted back to the NTFS4DOS bootable CD I created a while ago. Seemed to work fine.
I followed your video tutorial. Instead of booting with the flash drive and going into iPrep, I boot with the CD and it goes to DOS prompt. I then CD.. my way to the iPrep directory. It doesn't show the "iPrep" logo at the top the way it does on yours, but from the DOS prompt it lets me type dben... or fben... and then it gives me the same screen you get where it says to be sure the power to the drive is on, etc. So I think it works fine and gives me the same options, though I could be wrong. I don't have an extra PSU lying around, so I used the same PSU from my computer.
Most things on my screen looked the same as yours, except for the part when it starts looking for the IDE devices. Options 0,1 & 2 are the same as yours on the video, then you hit "No" when it asks if you want it to "resend the command until the drive responds". When you hit "No" at that point it shows all the devices in your computer--but not for me--for me it re-asks if I want to "resend command until drive responds"...if I hit "Yes", it just scans and scans and scans and never finds anything, even if I turn the drive off and on after hitting "Yes", like it says on the screen to do. So, I finally hit "No" and then it shows all my devices. (So, after hitting "No" twice, it shows the devices, including my BenQ drive.) (I made sure to unplug all other devices from the computer, all SATA and IDE devices except for the CD-ROM...so no confusion there.)
However, on your screen at this point (after it detects all your devices) it asks if you want to run Magic28 command. I never get that on my screen, never asks me if I want to run Magic28. You click on "Yes", then it tells you to eject the tray, power cycle, etc. For me, it never gets to that point, instead it goes to the part where it asks you to enter the drive letter (for me it's 8). I press Enter, then it gives me the same page you get where it asks if you want to "R", "W", "E", etc. It is at this point where I eject the drive. It will never eject the drive for me...I press the button several times, nothing. So I power down (on the CK3), then power back up, and NOW it let's me eject the drive. I power down again, push the drive in half-way, power back on, do the "W", give it the name of the CFW. It seems like all is going well, it erases first, then it says it's writing banks 0, 1, 2, 3. Then I get my hopes up thinking it flashed properly, pop the drive back into the 360, pop an original game in it, but it says "Please place a 360 disc in the drive".
I've done this 3 times now, on one of the tries, I had to "Erase" the FW, because it wouldn't flash the banks, just hung at the "Erasing" stage. After doing on "E", for Erase, it allowed me to flash it again...and after (supposedly) successfully flashing, I took it to test it, but it won't play originals.
Any ideas what is wrong? Is it my iPrep (booting from CD) instead of Flash drive? Is it my CK3 kit? Is it the lack of Magic28?
i would say its in your cd boot
try a different flash to boot from
or you can try
360_Modification_Disc_v1.53.zip
you can find it here http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... f=112&t=48" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; dont use that if you have a sata HD in your pc.
that boot cd saves a copy of your orig firmware on the root of your "c" drive but only if it a "IDE drive"
i think you have a good backup of this console firmware(you should)
if that is the case then you can use this program but it will not save a cpoy of your key and firmware.
You understand that part 100% right
if not ask.
it just maybe what you are needing if you cant get your pc to boot on a usb.

Thanks CoFree for the answer. I will try 360_Modification_Disc_v1.53.zip since I have an IDE HD. Yes, I have good backups (several) of the OFW, so I don't need to do the dump first. BTW, for those who don't need to do a dump first, at what point do you eject/power down/push DVD drive half-way in/power on? If all you need to do is a Flash of the FW, do you just type fbencfw.bin when you get to your first iPrep prompt? And the power cycle?--same place as when dumping?
Do you mean that if I already have iXtreme 1.4 on my drive and I want to flash it with 1.51, I HAVE to first dump the 1.4 FW before I can flash it with the 1.51?
Thanks for continuing to answer me! When I did my flash, I didn't dump the drive's FW first. It did allow me to (presumable) flash it, albeit not properly. How could/should I go about putting 1.41 back on, so that I can flash it to 1.51?
ok man
you are going to have to tell me what you did.
if you did not do the dump
that is your problem
it did not get your key so now your drive will not read games.
you will have to do a restore (if that is what happened.)
You will need a copy of you "cfw.bin" for that benq and it most have a good key in the firmware
You can use a floppy to do this if need be.(it will take longer to flash)
or a usb flash
do this
make a iprep boot flash with RHPG Iprep v009
in the backup folder make a folder named 1234567
then in that folder make a folder named 12345
in there put the firmware you want to flash in.It needs to renamed to ' bencfw.bin "
with out the " " of course
then just flash it in like normal
by just running the fben 1234567 12345

Well, first, I tried to follow your video to the T. As I said earlier, I got different results than what showed on your screen, it never asked me the Magic28 question, I had to pass that step and select my drive manually. I never received the message that says to eject the tray, cycle power, etc. I believe I may have done the dump of the FW actually, because I'm looking in the iPrep folder right now, on my C drive and I see a "BACKUPS" folder with the "1234567" folder and in that the "12345" folder with a "bencfw.bin" file in there. I wonder if this may have been created when I first tried to dump the drive's FW?--or is this in the iPrep directory by default when you create the iPrep drive?

Fair enough.

Do you mean I will need a copy of my "ofw.bin"? Otherwise which CFW will I need, since I've been using 1.41 this whole time.
NeoRio wrote:Do you mean I will need a copy of my "ofw.bin"?
well that would be fine to man
you can flash that in then
dump /flash the drive to get the console reading backup
or you can just put your key in a hacked firmware and rename it and flash it in
and it will be done after that
