hitachi drive flashing

ok...my nephew wants me to flash his xbox 360 for him...it is an old one and has a hitachi drive.....its never been flashed before...how do i go about doing it ?......can igo straight to 1.51 as there is no 1.6 for the hitachi?...or 1.4 first...then 1.51....been looking for a tut but cant find one.....lol...ta

You can go straight to 1.51. It being an older hitachi, be prepared for problems. You may not have any, but just be warned just in case you do. I would recommend using a combination of jungle flasher and firmware toolbox to do hitachi's. Basically, you get the drive in mode b, dump the firmware. Load the original firmware as the source in jungleflasher, then load the ix151 for the hitachi as the source. Spoof the source to the target by clicking the button. Then save the custom firmware.

Then use firmware toolbox to open the firmware and then flash it.

This isn't a guide, but just a run down of how to do it.
