Post by JollyJuJu »

I'm using iXtreme 1.4, trying to flash a samsung ms28 using the VT6421. so far ive got everything workin except when i use the dSam command it begins to read the firmware but stops at 1% and then i recieve an invalid opcode error. any idea what im doing wrong? suggestions would be great! ive been stuck on this for the last couple days.

Nah, I've never used ntfs4dos.

What I did was to create a small 200 MB partition with acronis disk management and format that partition with fat16 and then used iprep to prepare the partition. Then used Acronis Boot Selector to be able to boot to either DOS or Windows XP. This way, I don't need to have any kind of NTFS4dos utility to have to read the ntfs partition. It can be read natively with no problems by the dos utilities like mtkflash and dosflash.

Hi,

As i posted in another thread regarding Dosflash. I am now using Iprep 006. To flash a benq.

My Pc dosnt have a floppy drive that works, and my usb stick dosnt seem to work either trying to boot into dos (even tho that have make bootable in iprep)( And also looked in bios and tried all the differnet USB options there to boot from) This si still not.

I then had a thought (Dont get many of these!)...

When I had flashed my Sammy ms28, I used NTFS4DOS and this worked a charm. So I have done everything in Iprep to make file on hard drive in iprep folder (as I did with my ms28)
I then used the bootdisc (NTFS4DOS) that I used for my ms28 and got into dos.

My question, is it ok to use this bootcd for flasing my benq, as all the relevant files are on the hard drive for benq. Just wanted to check before went ahead with it.

Soz didnt really think about HiJacking n stuff. Soz. I did a search for NTFS4DOS and came to this thread. Thought instead of creating another thred I will post in the same one. (Me Make a mental note not to do this in future.(

Right, I think that willgo by the NTFS4DOS route rather than floppy (or USB that dosnt work) as I have just tryed booting into dos using cd, and that seems to work. The flasing bits are loaded from the hard drive and saves the read fireware n stuff on the hard drive too. I didnt need to run anything from the cd as all was really to do with this was to boot into dos.

Hopefully it will all go to plan.
