I have a question because I recently bought a backup of the UFC Undisputed 2009 game from someone, took it home, checked if it is stealth for Xbox Live with abgx and it passed. But when I went to play it, the first screen with all the legal writing came up, but after that, the screen went black and nothing was happening. After trying the disc multiple times, I left it on the black screen for a long time, and the background music started playing, but nothing else. I told this to the guy I bought the game from, and he suspected that the read speed he burned the disc with didn't match my drive.
I have a Lite-on drive, my 360 was bought this year. I have it flashed with 1.51 iXtreme firmware. The guy said he burned the game to be read at 4x, then tried burning another copy at 2.4x read speed and gave it to me to try. I tried it, and now it works, but I am worried to go on Xbox Live with it. It passed the abgx check, but after doing some of my own research, I have read that Wave 3 games are only supposed to be read at 12x and some people claim that reading discs at the wrong speed could be a risk for being banned.
So, after that long-winded explanation (sorry), does anyone happen to know if I'm at risk playing online if the disc I have now is supposedly burned to read at 2.4x but Wave 3 games should supposedly be set to read at 12x? Secondly, is there a way to check if the disc is actually burned with a read speed of 2.4? I've always bought backups of my games from other people as I don't have my own Dual Layer DVD burner, so I've never burned one myself; is it even POSSIBLE to set the read speed of the disc? Or is this guy just an idiot and/or lying to me?
(EDIT: I just wanted to clarify, I do know the difference between WRITE speed and READ speed, and I know thats 2.4x is always the suggested WRITE speed and that the guy I bought it from did use 2.4x as the WRITE speed when burning the disc, this question is only concerning the read speed.)
Thank you very much for any help.

Sorry, should have mentioned that more clearly at the beginning of my post. I don't have the hardware nor the patience to rip/burn my own games. The Turtle wrote:I've always bought backups of my games from other people as I don't have my own Dual Layer DVD burner, so I've never burned one myself; is it even POSSIBLE to set the read speed of the disc? That's the thing man, we don't support piracy.

I own the original game too, though. But I cannot make the backups myself, so I buy them from others who provide them, is that still considered piracy?
