Does Benq have to be restored to its original fw...
in order to be updated? I have Benq with1.6 if later on theres an update will i be able to just flash the new cf or do i have to restore it first to its original fw before updating? Thanks in advance

No the only drives which should be restored to stock before flashing are Hitachi's but you never know what the future holds.

I don't know what the hell I did but for some reason when I upgraded my benq it won't work now. I know this is relatively pointless information as to i can't explain why, but hopefully may lead to ideas.

I had this problem last night. Flashed a benq using jf from 1.4 to 1.6 and it would not play any backups or originals but DVD's worked fine. Checked the key again with jf and it looked good so i reflashed the drive with 1.51 and it all worked fine
