Ok iv been hunting around on a way to fix this problem but theres almost no information on it
I have a VAD6038 flashed with 1.6 hooked-up with a ck3 pro on a VIA 6421a with everything working
Now here's the problem when I start xbc 2.8 and plonk a org 360 game in with the drive in vendor mode it shows that its 4TB same with all my games, buts shows correct size on other stuff besides 360 games
Windows detects the drive I even watched a movie with it and listened to afew cds when I was working
It's my understanding from listening in at #JungleFlasher that there needs to be an update to XBC before it will recognize the subtlety of the 0800 mode hidden inside iXtreme 1.6. There are a lot of people right now having issues even getting the drive recognized in Windows or XBC via the 0800 mode.
The activate.iso is just for booting non-stealth games or modified ISO's in your Xbox 360. It tells the firmware to boot without checks on the following disc. In order to activate the 0800 mode you must power on the drive with it ejected Half-way. But even still as I said before the guys at #JungleFlasher have stated that there will be updates to XBC. No one that I've talked to has heard from Redline99 yet on those updates. I will do my best to keep you posted.
i remember reading somewhere that you need to update the VIA drivers to fix the 4tb thing. you need the 5.3c drivers to make it work. i'll have to hunt down the thread for you.
Just some FYI, I used a sammy ms-28 with ix 1.6 to rip a game last night. My setup was a bit unconventional as the computer I was testing with doesn't have any molex connectors, only sata power connectors. So I used a separate AT power supply to power the drive with a CK2 connectivity kit. Hooked up my sata cable, powered up the drive, ejected the tray. Turned the drive off, closed the tray half way, turned it back on. Booted the computer. Checked in My Computer and the drive was there. Using Vista Ultimate. Loaded up XBCr and ripped away. Worked great on that computer. It may not work so well on other computers, but it worked fine on that one.
I think there would really need to be some updates to XBCr though. Especially since lite-on is not even a choice in the settings.

man
you did get the xbc v2.5 and run the installer
then get the xbc v2.9 and run it
right
the v2.8 or v2.9 does not have a installer in it
so get the v2.5 and install then just upgrade

You don't have any software like alcohol 120% or other virtual drive software installed so you?? If so, try uninstalling that software and then try to rip a game with XBCr. This is the only thing that I've found that causes this, not saying it's the only thing, just the only thing that I've found.
