I've got fairly good at flashing drives with hacked FW now. But now i'm trying to replace bad drives and from time to time i seem to get confused and lost.
For this I'd like to only deal with Default/Unmodded drives. As in replacing bad unmodded drives with new unmodded drives. And I get confused and unsure if I have to spoof, or replace keys, or if those two terms mean the same thing. So any answers or advice on the following questions is greatly appreciated.
First off in order to swap a bad drive example: (unmodded method for everything) a bad hit47d drive needs to be replaced, so i put a Benq drive. I have all the FW and key information from both drives.
Do I just replace the key that's for the Benq Drive with the key that was from the Hit47D drive and rewrite/flash the benq drive with the updated version of the Benq FW (which has the HitDrive Key)??
Or is it mandatory to spoof the new Benq drive with the Hit47D FW(which includes the key as well) in order to make the drive work with the existing xbox?
Second, Is swapping keys and spoofing a drive considered the same thing?
If spoofing isn't mandatory to make a new drive work with the existing setup, and only key swapping is,
When and why would spoofing be encouraged?
Please and thank u for any advice that could be offered.

Few questions on swapping drives, keys, and spoofing
Right, spoofing is needed if your replacing a drive with a different model,
in your case if you were to spoof a BENQ you would spoof it to a hitachi 47,
once your benq is spoofed it reports as a hitachi 47 drive, thats what the spoof does,
the key is also needed so the xbox can confirm it matches with itself,
but if the drive had not been spoofed to report as the original drive in the xbox that will make it useless even with the right key.
So time for spoofing, open jungle flasher and click open target firmware,
open the hitachi firmware,
then click open source firmware and open the BENQ firmware,
click spoof source to target,
now make sure the key from the hitachi firmware matches the key in the BENQ firmware,
also make sure it says in the target firmware box spoofed as hitachi 47 in bold (bottom right corner of the box)
then click save to file and save that firmware,
this firmware you saved is the spoofed BENQ firmware which you will flash into the BENQ drive.
Now time to flash the BENQ,
hook up the BENQ and open jungle flasher,
open the BENQ firmware you just save as the target firmware,
go in the mtk flash 32 tab and make sure you BENQ is showing up in the drive properties,
(if not select the correct port for your drive)
click Benq Unlock and let jungle flasher do its thing, seconds later its done,
now in the drive properties it should say "in vendor mode", also in the flash chip properties under type make sure the status is 0x73,
now click write and let jungle flasher flash the spoofed BENQ firmware to the drive,
after write verified ok! comes up click Outro/ATA Reset and the drive should show up in drive properties,
Put the drive in your xbox and try it out.

Thanks so much man! You're a genius.
Question in regards to the Benq now being recognized as a hit47d drive. Now in the future(and my situation right now) when i hook up the spoofed Benq drive that's recognized as a hit47d drive and start up JF, I go to Hit Tab and it recognizes, great!
My question is what can be done to undo the spoofing job to that Benq drive that's recognized as a hit47d drive?
Is it possible to revert it back to a Benq drive?
If so, how? My concern is when i go into JF and go under hit tab, it sees the 47d drive, but when i try to put it into mode b, it doesn't seem to respond as a 47 drive, stays shut as though it was a Benq drive.
Another problem that I get from time to time is that the verified part doesn't seem to go through, I get a problem stating that it didn't verify. Should i be concerned, if so, could i do the flashing in iPrep. How would i go about doing it in iPrep.
Thanks again man for the step by step instructions, u should make a tut on the spoofing, many times the tuts i've noticed leave steps out, or they're mainly written for hacked FW.
Thanks again

Re: Few questions on swapping drives, keys, and spoofing
In jungle flasher the BENQ will show up as a BENQ but you must treat it like a BENQ.
To revert back to a normal BENQ drive just flash the original firmware to the drive.
Ive never had any problems while the verifying part happens so i wouldnt know.
You can flash in iPrep but im not the best when it comes to iPrep so i couldnt help you there.
If the drive works in the xbox and plays originals fine then you should be fine
