Dump Hitachi 79
Saved orig Fw
pluged in Hitachi 47
clicked on firmtool32 tab
opened orig 79 fw
copied 79 fw
went back to hitachi tab
put 47 into mode b
clicked on tab under dump drive not sure of the name sorry
clicked flash key
I was prompt with a box where I paste the orig 79 fw
clicked ok
a box piped say drive was stable
clicked ok
everything looked good but when I pluged it into the 360 I got e66 error and 1 red light on the far rt cornner
can anyone Help?

Re: Help Spoofing Hitachi 79 to 47 using JF
Well, spoofing a hitachi is not as simple as all the other drives.
Your topic title, and your steps are backwards... Are you trying to replace a 47 with a 79, or a 79 with a 47?
What you have done is made a 47 appear to be a 79. If thats what your trying to do, your spoofing a 47 to a 79.
Anyways, what you need to do is: (I am assuming you are spoofing the 47 to a 79, since thats what you did in the post above)
1) Get your 79 hooked up to your computer
2) Dump the firmware, and check for a valid key
3) Hook up your 47, and dump it (You will need the OFW later if you update the firmware)
4) Load your 79's firmware as source
5) Highlight the key, and copy it
6) Load ixtreme for the 47 as target (or your 47's OFW)
7) Click "Spoof Source To Target" (Kind of pointless to do, but its just to be safe)
8) make sure your drive is shown, and the 46/47 button is selected
9) Send mode b (In JF)
10) Select Flash Key Sector, and click "Flash Keys"
11) When the box pops up asking you what key, paste in the key you copied from the 79
Now if your flashing ixtreme:
12) (Make sure you have done steps 4-7) Select flash ixtreme, and click flash hacked F/W
13) Now select flash spoof data
14) Click Flash ID's
15) When the box pops up, select Hitachi GDR 3120L 0079
16) Click OK
17) Go test the drive in your xbox
If your flashing just the stock FW:
Continue with steps 13-17 (no step 12)
If you dont want to flash ixtreme, wait for someone to verify what I said is correct for flashing stock firmwares. I have not spoofed stock (OFW) firmwares, so I am not 100% sure that is the correct method, but should work in theory
As for the other method, (If you are flashing ixtreme) that is the exact way you do it, ive done it a few times.
Oh, and also, if you are putting a 79 drive into a 49 console, copy the steps I said, and everywhere you see "47" replace that with "79" and wherever you see "79" replace that with "47" (Also, you would be flashing ixtreme for a 79 not a 47)

Ok, so you are putting a 79 into a 47 console?ronr179 wrote:I am trying to spoof a 79 to a 47 I'll give a try later today

If so, just copy my guide, and paste it into notepad or something, then replace the "47"'s with "79"'s and vice versa.
Also, you will be flashing ixtreme for the 79 not the 47 version.
