need help, benq might be bricked
hello all. i am currently working on a benq that as of now gives the white screen of death. basically i have done 2 other benqs in the past successfully through jungleflasher. this one though had its firmware erased and was stuck in vendor mode for a while after a bad flash. i had deleted the ofw and cfw files (n00b mistake) and had to recover them. i was able to find different bin files with 3 different keys, counting this drive i have worked on a total of 3 so that makes since. thanks to some process of elimination i have narrowed down 3 to 2 and i have tried flashing with both keys through modified and unmodified fw. my console states that i must place the game disc in a 360 console. what i need to know is: 1. when using dosflash to flash fw does entering the correct serial number matter or is that just for the backup folder it creates on your usb drive, 2. is there a possibilty that the drive serial info (hex code) that is viewable in jf could have been corrupted when the flash messed upand if so is there a tool to verify that the drive serial info is accurate (like dsdb fixer but for benqs) and 3. could i buy a device that could read the rom chip from the 360 board and tell me what my key info was in the first place (last resort of course). thank you ahead of time for any help offered.

1: Nope, the serial is just so dosflash knows where to find the FW you want to flash. You dont even need to put numbers... It can be letters.kr4m3r wrote:1. when using dosflash to flash fw does entering the correct serial number matter or is that just for the backup folder it creates on your usb drive, 2. is there a possibilty that the drive serial info (hex code) that is viewable in jf could have been corrupted when the flash messed upand if so is there a tool to verify that the drive serial info is accurate (like dsdb fixer but for benqs) and 3. could i buy a device that could read the rom chip from the 360 board and tell me what my key info was in the first place (last resort of course). thank you ahead of time for any help offered.
2: Im not quite sure, its unlikely. Someone else will have to post about this.
3: If you have the NXE dashboard, there is nothing.

that sucks. arg. so i guess that means this console is a glorified dvd player now and i will have to buy a new console (at least thats what everyone else is telling me). thanks for the help. oh and BUMP for question 2.
