Hey guys. I'm trying to flash a hitachi drive. I think it's a 79. there's a 79 in the serial or model on the drive. I was hoping i'd be able to flash it with iprep since that is what i'm use to. Didnt see an option for hitachi there though =(
My question is should i be using JF or some other program? If i should use JF could someone point me in the right direction to get this drive flashed. My via 6421 doesn't recognize it. driver is 5.3c. I need to get it into mode b as i thinking that is one issue. I've watch video about slax disc and some wav file. was lil dated, didnt want to try that till i asked. just dont want to take a change and brick my cousins drive.
Sorry if this has been asked before. Search wasn't being very helpful with me.
I have the most recent JF program also.

i mean i wouldn't use the via chipset...plus you need the 79 unlock cd...you can get it off this website...if you have a onboard sata that works best well for me it does...it will look like this

Uhm, a via card is the most effective way to flash, and if I were you, I would use the card.
I had 5.3c drivers installed aswell, but you should disable your driver in order to avoid freezing/bad flashing.
You will have to use JF (or toolbox). If your drive is stock, you dont need any unlock cd's or anything... Thats weird your comp doesnt see your drive with your via card... have you tried all ports?
