Wow. If it was the original drive that went back in it, I am surprised. Especially if it showed no signs of being opened. I've personally seen (not done it myself mind you) 360's go back to M$ with no stickers, screws missing, and looking like crap and get a nice new one back in its place.

last nite i drilled the case for xclamp fix of gpu, didnt work.
today m/s rang me to say "please ignore the letter your console hasnt been tampered with, when can we fix it for you" M/F'IN XXXXXXX..........
IM NOW IN THE PROSSES OF STRIPPING THE SERIAL NUMBERS OF THE INSIDE OF THE CONSOLE AND AM GONA SWAP THE INSIDE METAL CASE WITH MY ELITE

OMG!!! That is so ridiculous!! That would make me want to cuss like a sailor...... Good thing you've got a spare to swap the cages around with.
