Gazillion Entertainment announced today that David Brevik, former president of Blizzard North and the man chiefly responsible for the Diablo series, will be taking a position with Gargantuan in the role of Studio Director. The most recent of Gazillion's development studios, Gargantuan is currently tasked with creating Marvel Universe, an MMO based in... well... the Marvel universe of comics.
We haven't really heard much about Marvel Universe, other than it is in production. This is, of course, not to be confused with the Cryptic Studios project which was canceled in 2008. Brevik will be taking the reins of the Gazillion project following his previous position at the now defunct Flagship Studios.
Brevik will also be speaking at Comic-Con this week in a panel entitled, "The State of MMOs: A Discussion with the Developer." If we're lucky, we may get to learn a little more about what's going on with Marvel Universe there.
