Ok, i hooked my drive up to sata, crock clipped my xbox360 to chasis had my iprep 8.8 loaded with iextreme 1.6 for samsung on usb ready just like in all the tut's and videos, i go into bios disable all my drives etc.... iprep 8.8 boots up and i do the dsam 1234567 12345 but with my S#, hit enter the list of drives shows up 0,1,2,3,4 and nothing is on any of them but 0 and it shows my xbox360 drive which says this:
0xD400 SATA PRI MASTER ATAPI TSSCorpDVD-ROM TS-H943A ms25
FLASH MANUFACTURE ID: 0xBF, DEVICE ID: 0xB6
FLASH TYPE: SST (39SF020)
FLASH SIZE: 262144 bytes (256 KB)
this is device 0 on the list so i hit 0 and enter
then i get the type R to read etc... so i hit R, then asks to put the enter filename, I enter samofw.bin hit enter and then i get this,
general failure writing drive C
Abort, Retry, Fail?
I tried hitting retry and it just keeps coming up, so i hit abort and then it says this,
File not found - SamOFW.BIN
File not found
ERROR: File BACKUPS\XXXXXXX\XXXXX\SamOFW.BIN does not exist! Program aborted!
C:\>
and im back to the c prompt i tried powering down the drive and dsam again and it does the same thing, anyone know what im doing wrong this drive has never been flashed before and I thought the samsung ms25 were the easiest to flash? Any help would be appreciated, thanx ahead of time! Ohh I have also tried it with Iprep 9 same thing.

Re: help samsung ms25 prob
well if you cant find your xbox drive
then unplug all the other HD and dvd drives that are hooked up
then you xbox drive would be the only one hooked up.

Re: help samsung ms25 prob
ok thanks ill try that, i disabled all the drives in bios even though you disable every drive it could still do that, because the only drive it did pick up was my xbox360 drive, thanks ill try that and let you know
Re: help samsung ms25 prob
Just tried it, same thing, I'm wondering could it be the usb stick? Since the logical drive its trying to copy the samofw.bin to is C:\ and the iprep is running on C:\ so that would make it the usb drive right? Let me see if that would help i tried it with a 1gig stick and a 2gig i have another 2gig stick left to try ill give it a go and see what happens, im stumped

Re: help samsung ms25 prob
does your usb has a lock n unlock tab? did u try using iprep v9 also to see if its the same result? idk but might be case sensitive?
heres a sequence of iprep saving f/w:
when you type dsam 1234567 12345
in the backup folder in your c:\ 1234567 is its own folder
12345 is its own folder, and in this folder is where the sam-ofw.bin should of been placed

Re: help samsung ms25 prob
To reiterate what johnny said, go into your usb drive, and look in your BACKUPS folder, check to see if you have a folder named 1234567 if not, make one, then go inside that folder, and check to see if you have a folder named 12345 if not make that folder.
Then retry flashing, if that fails, download ixtreme 1.6 and put that in your 12345 folder, and rename it SamOFW.bin
Now try flashing... if you are able to dump the drive, dont flash yet, boot windows, and open your ofw on the stick, and check to make sure you have a good key. If iprep dumped the drive it will have overwritten your ofw in the 12345 folder, so if you open it in FW toolbox or JF, you will likely have a good key, if it has not overwritten the FW, your key will be reperating F's or 0's or 7's or something...
Im rarely use iprep, so I am not complete sure that will work, but its worth a try.
Like johnny said, check to see if your thumb drive is locked (look for a lock button, if its switched to 'lock' it will cause the drive to be read only. Therefore you cannot write to the thumb drive, and will be unable to save/dump the FW)
Then retry flashing, if that fails, download ixtreme 1.6 and put that in your 12345 folder, and rename it SamOFW.bin

Re: help samsung ms25 prob
Ok guys the usb was not working for some reason so i just did it with the floppy all went well got my samofw.bin backed up on my computer and then i went to flash it it flashed and said all is done ok! So I unhooked everything fired up my xbox360 with the Samsung iXtreme THX v1.6 version of the custom firmware and put a dvd in it played that then i tried to play an xbox360 game, so i popped in the darkness it came up with a screen saying this is a xbox360 disc put it in an xbox360 to play it? Did I do something wrong, any ideas, thanks!
Re: help samsung ms25 prob
