Can you just swap drives with no spoofing?

Post by Faithy »

Ok so i got 2 consoles one is a Xbox elite with Benq drive that is flashed with Ixtreme 1.6 firmware and the other is an Arcade console with a Liteon drive not flashed.

Is it possible to just swap out the drives and have the benQ in my arcade?

Or is this just a real silly question

This is not a silly question....you do not even know how many people want to ask this and don't. Thank you for your inquiry. I believe what you want to know is can you take a modded drive and place it into an unmodded machine and thereby it would be modded.
As stutterman has answered it would be NO, as the drive contains a key that is matched to the MOBO's "LOCK". So when you moved the drive to a different machine it would not have the proper information (key) to open the lock.....you would make a dvd player, as that's all it would function as.

Hope this helps.
