After finally getting my VIA SATA card to recognize my Benq, I can get to "Status 0x73". The first time I did it, it made it to "Reading Bank 1" then it just stayed there flashing at me. Since then, I can't get past "Reading Bank 0".
Any advice?

I had the same problem and no matter what I tried, ie different usbs, floppy, different computers, configurations, it would not get past reading bank 0. I switched sata cards and it worked instantly, my advice would be switch cards because it's supremely frustrating and got me nowhere...
Just an fyi, I used this card, front sata port (closest to front of pc case) and it worked first try, took about 45 seconds for the whole procedure.

thats right sometime you can get a bad card right out of the box
