Change stack settings??

Post by xXwhygodwhyXx »

I get this error when I type it to flash my samsung

"An internal stack overflow has caused this session to be halted. Change the stacks settings in your config.sys file, and then try again.

So I went to my config settings and have no idea wtf its talking about with the stack settings. Can anyone please help me?

A stack overflow is when DOS is interrupted with something either A) it can't handle or; B) it interferes with an ongoing more important process. It usually happens when you power cycle your drive when using iprep.

So then I should use my 360 to power on my drive in stead of my connectivity kit?

It's not going to matter. Because the error originates from the data connection not power. But you should try to have power to the drive before booting into iprep. Maybe even try having the tray half-open as well before booting.

I heard that people have been having messed up drives while flashing it with the drive open.

Not that I've ever seen I've flashed my drive in a number of different states. Not a problem yet. But that doesn't mean that it couldn't be for someone else.

I fixed the problem that nobody knows how to so far, all I did was access my bios and disabled all my ports

I've gotten this error a few times. All I do is shut down my cpu, turn it back on and continue. Next time I'll try disabling my ports.

Thanks.

I've gotten this error before too, all I did was make sure the drive was powered on before I booted into DOS, that did the trick for me.
