Lite-on Help

Post by rezzy »

I need some assistance with flashing my lite-on drive. This is the old version.=, not the new. I have the CK3 Pro con it, VIA controller. I've tried uing JF in windows and I keep geeting an error Serial Data Bad.

Therefore I tried following Cofree's Iprep tutorial and I keep getting the following error, Can't get inquiry data!

I've tried everything and need some help. I hooked the drive back up and it still has the orig firmware because it plays orig games.

The probe lights green everytime touching the R707 point.

Thoughts please?

Try different sata ports, usb ports, and com ports if you have more than one.

I can see the drive on SATA port in both programs, can I assume that this is good then?

Would I then look at the USB and/or comp port depending if I use JF or Iprep? In JF I prob switched the usb port between all five on my mobo. Is there anyway to confirm that the CK3 is being recognized?

I guess the same thing with Iprep, how can I tell if the correct comport is selected and test the rs232 cable? In Iprep I have a choice between 1 and 2. I assume 1 since everyone else says its usually 1 or 3. I also tried it on 2 as well and still get error. Power cycled drive a few times, etc...

Stressful!!!

Go here: http://team-xecuter.com/ck3/downloads.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and download the ck3 tool.

Install the usb driver, then probe the r707 point, and find your usb com port. Then go into JF, select your DRIVE port (something like 0xC800) then make sure you are on the correct com port (as you discovered in ck3 tool)

Did all that Haggardsmurf. I must have probed it about 100 times. Definitely on the right com port and SATA port. I've Tried using JF, CK3 TOOLS, and Iprep. So I've used USB and RS 232.

Is there anyway to check to see if my probe is bad? I mean it lights up on the R707 point. I've even traced it over to the R52 point and tried that. Green lights at both spots. I've tried opening the drive to several different positions andpower cycling it in between over and over.

Is it possible that the drive just can;t be read?

6421, got it from Fry's for about $20. Flashed a Hitachi and Beng with it no issues.
