3 red lights.

Post by cainhunpi »

Hey guys. I did the x-clamp fix. and I did not have have 3 RL before having the x clamp. but now I do.

and the ac adaptor is orange when I turn the xbox on. So the problem is the ac adaptor right? or is it the power input in the xbox?

thanks

It shouldn't be the power brick...

I remember there used to be a 'fake RROD' where kids would pull the power plug almost out, and when they turn on their xbox it would give 3 red rings. Check to make sure its fully plugged in.

If it is, and you still have RROD, check the error code. What type of thermal compound did you use? If it was arctic silver, make sure there is absolutely no paste anywhere but on the chip. Arctic silver conducts electricity (its 99.9% pure silver) if you got any on the motherboard, that can cause a serious problem.

it's also possible that the screws may be to tight. you can untighten each screw in increments while the 360 is on to see if the lights change. . .
