Need to flash OFW onto BenQ drive

Post by emcryption »

Hello everyone. I'm trying to get my OFW back onto my BenQ drive. I'm using Jungle Flasher v0.1.62 Beta, which is what I used to flash the drive originally. When I try to unlock the drive, it sends the magic keys and it then fails. Is there something that I am doing wrong? I have the OFW for the drive itself. I'm only doing this because my Elite keeps going E74 and is still under warranty. Any help with getting the OFW back onto the BenQ drive would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

No. I try to unlock it with the tray closed. Should it be half opened? If it should be, what's the best way to do that?

I'm not familiar with iPrep. What version should I use to do this?

Firstly download this iprep download/file.php?id=614" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
install it and dont change the directory.

once thats installed. goto c:\program files\iprep\resources in that folder you will see a file called ixdef download the attached file and and over ride the one in the resources folder. then start Iprep. You will need the ixtreme benq fw which you might already have just so you can make the bootable usb device.

then follow the tut that i sent you in last post

Well if jungleflasher is what you prefer, and have used in the past, I would stick with it...

To get your drive open half way, you will need to eject the drive, power it off, push the drive in, then turn the drive on. (You should have done this when you flashed originally)

With ck3:
Press eject, cut the power, push tray closed, turn power back on

With xbox:
Eject the tray, pull the power cord out of the back of the drive, push the try half way in, put the power cord back in.

Now when you send the unlock command it should work fine.

Thanks for all of the responses. I am familiar with JF - and the tray half open worked great! I didn't have to do that originally to get the flash the drive. Thanks again.
