Open tray error on benq

Post by monkey3200 »

Hey guys, I just flashed my benq drive to 1.6. I believe I did it successful, I followed a tutorial to the letter. I had a backup already made with the set layerbreak and burned at 2.4 and another at 4. Neither of them work. My originals work fine but the backups just say "open tray" on the dashboard. I used memorex because where I was buying did not have verbatims. Hopefully tomorrow I will find some Verbatims, but could there be a reason they don't work. Bad flash? Burn?

Help..

Well I used jungleflasher. I had to do the half tray thing. I clicked on benq unlock, then read. Then I clicked on read and clicked yes for autoload spoof or something like that. I went to see if the firmware was right and it said it was the 1.6. I clicked on write and it wrote but none of the games work

So you saved the OFW right? You missed the erase. You read, save, save, save, erase, write and test. So It sounds like it didn't write because it couldn't.

You dont need to erase with benQ's when you click write, it erases the drive for you. (in JF)

I have never had trouble with memorex before, thats odd that you get open tray errors with the disks. Either your dvd burner may be getting tired, or your drive in your xbox may not be the best.

If you want to use cheaper media for your games, (Memorex, HP, Maxwell) you will probably need to repair/replace either your burner, or drive in your xbox.
