Hi to all,

I am trying to mod my 360 to play my backup copy's I just picked up a 360 with the Samsung TS-H943 Drive. I need all the help I can get from you guys. I have the following not sure if i a missing anything.

1.Sata Cable
2. On board Sata on my PC
3.iPrep
4.Xbins
5.updated firmwear to 2.0
6.xtractv3.0 ( Don't know if I need to for mod?)

well the first thing is to see if your onboard sata will work.with a sam v25 or v28 you need a via chipset if your computer dont have this order this.

all you should need is
via chipset sata
iprep
(i would go with the older iprep not the one with benq and sam)
hacked firmware
firmware toolbox v4.5 (to check your key to make sure its a good dump)

the sam v25/v28 drive are not bad.you will get no problem.

Why can't I load my fireware message: unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Has anyone got this and what can I do to fix?

Yes I do. I am so lost don't know where to start.

what iprep are you using ans what firmware are you putting in.

do you have the updated def file in iprep

I don't know if you are or not, but you might follow this tutorial by cofree and it should be pretty self explanatory.

Okay I am using iPrep 101 V0.0.2 I updated the def file size is 2kb and for firmwear I am using ixtreme_samsung V1.3
my on board sata card shows up as sis 180 RAID Controller.

trying to use on board sata can be a pain.
it must be via chipset. even if it is some times it still wont work.
the best thing would be to pick up this.

you can bang your head in it for awhile trying your on board sata (you may get it)but in the end you will end up with that card .

Thanks for your time. Yeah I will give it a rest for today I am going to order the card now. And then take it from there. One more thing before I go in the Iprep program the firmware should show up no matter if it is detecting the sata or not is that right? cause the problem I am having is the I can not get my firmware to load into the program.

you do have the updated def file right it should be this

the other thing is it looks like you are loading it open try loading it rared up (leave it zipped)
when you go to where you downloaded the firmware just double click it.it should load.

follow the part in cofree's tutorial about replacing the "def" file. even though its at the bottom of the tutorial, I believe you have to do it first. Its the last two picture of the tutorial:

UPDATE the DEF FILE

When they release a new firmware you have to update the def file in IPREP before iprep
will load it.
Doing this is not hard and doesn't take but a second.Go to your iprep folder and open it.
It should look like this



Then you copy the new def file.Then paste it in the iprep folder.



It will ask if you want
to replace the file.Say yes.
Thats it the new def file is in iprep and will load the new firmware

by the error you are receiving it would lead me to believe you need to update this file and then you should be set to go to the next step.

Got it thank you guys. Now I just have to wait for my via card. Thanks again guys I will post again when I get the card. I did the reboot from dose and see can see where I have to enter my s/n when I do and select the sata number is dose not do anything this I guess is do to the fact that I don't have that card yet. I will let you guys know how it go's soon.

man im not following what you are saying
you have got the firmware to load in iprep right.

if so while you wait on your card.make sure your computer will boot off the usb flash
then you'll just wait for you sata card to come in.
