Re: Memorex error
well you should use verbatim discxx0warrig0xx wrote:and dont gimme that "You should use verbs" well i used them and found no diff in performance or wear and tear
the performance will be fine once it gets the info from the disc.
but
yes it does put more wear on you dvd drive laser because it has to work harder reading the info from the disc
that is because of the kind of dye use on cheaper disc.
man we dont just make this shit up. (well not all of it)
there is a reason we say what we say

Re: Memorex error
Open imgburn, put your disk in the drive, and wait for img burn to load the disk, then look at the supported speeds.
If it says 4x 8x 16x (or whatever, with 4 being the lowest) thats your problem. If not, and it says 2.4x 4x 8x 16x (again, whatever, but 2.4 as lowest) then the problem is your burner doesnt support burning DL media at 2.4x.
Search up your burner, and look for its supported speeds. (If you go to a website, and you see the supported speed for dl dvd's is 16x thats the max speed only, keep looking.)
Also, 4x is not much of a difference from 2.4x I burn my games at 4x for sake of time.

Re: Memorex error
I had a couple memorex DL's laying around, used them both for backups, and both worked on all 6 of my drives. I still use verb's though.
IMO Verb's arent that expensive. The disks always go on sale, I bought 4 30 packs for 35 bucks a piece a couple weeks ago. (All are 2.4x MIS)
