I'm really surprised he hasn't spent the money to have them bring dsl to his house. It's only like 5 miles away. pocket change!

Money or no, 5 miles is a long way for DSL. You have to have a Central Office within a few thousand feet or it doesn't work so well. Granted, I've no idea what the phone systems are like in gator country, I just know I had to wait a long time for broadband to hit where I live. Even now that they have broadband where I live, the highest package you can get is like 4M/512K you can get 3M/3M but most people go with the 4M/512K to get the extra M down. You pay about the same price for the 4M package as you would a 6 or an 8M package in a larger town though. I'm just glad to have something thats consistant (knock on wood).

i would pay $5,000.00 to have DSL out here and they still wont do it.
they said it would be here soon.
