Lite On Unknown flag chip message

Post by bittersuit_98 »

Hi everyone,
I was flashing a lite-on the old version with iprep 8.8. Dump went OK, valid key and all that. Then I typed the flit command. Then it erased the original fw nut when i hit "W" for the writing I got the unknown flag chip message and couldn't flash the hacked the fw. Obviously the dvd is bricked now. The weird thing is that I had a spare lite on (identical to the other one) so I decided the flash in the hacked fw and it worked flawlessly. The console is working with the spare drive just fine. Any ideas as to what could be wrong with the other lite-on drive? Any solutions/suggestions?
thanx everyone.

You can only really half brick them....use the L-o-L recovery in dos and your drive should be just fine.

You can find the info you need in the TUT section
