liteon firmware upgrade

Hi, my friend has a liteon drive which has modded firmware and some sort of soldering inside, can the firmware be updated to the latest using iprep and the latest firmware in the way that you can update the benq drives (thats the only drive i have flashed)

It'll be the 707 points which have been soldered to originally dump the liteon. Yeah it's just a case of reflashing it. You've got a couple of options.. If you have the original dump you can load it into jungle and create the cfw to finish off with iprep or alternatively use jungle or iprep to do the lot depending on what you're most comfortable using.

thanks for the help, ive always just used iprep with a sata cable into my sata card on the pc for flashing benq drives.
ive never used jungle flasher , always d/loaded the firmware from xbins and used the usb drive if you know what i mean?

thank you, really appreciate your help, in all the videos there using a connectivity kit and there opening and closing the drive with it, does this still have to be done when the drive has already been flashed with modded firmware and just needs updating or can i just load up the firmware with iprep and reflash with a sata cable?

yeap, even when updating the firmware you have to follow all steps. i.e. drive tray positions. . . and with the lite-on drive you need to have the rs232 connected so you will need a connectivity kit of some sort.
