Do I have to restore

Post by phelixnyc »

Friend has a Hitachi 78, I flashed a few months ago. He wants ixtreme 1.4 now (I used Texbooks tut and the fw suggested at the time) do I have to restore the original fw or can I just flash 1.4 over the current firmware?

You have to do the restore on a Hitachi. Samsungs and Benqs can be flashed right over.

Am I to use to "RESTORE.bat"? I read this on another forum. Or am I just to flash it the way I flashed it the first time just using the original fw?

To answer this question, you need to take a look at how you flashed it in the first place. If you used the files that came with the hitachi firmware, then you would need to use the restore.bat as long as the original firmware files are still in place. If you used firmware toolbox, then you would of course, use firmware toolbox to restore it using the differential flash(restore) feature. You have to have the original firmware in either case and you can actually do it either way. Once you restore it, then you can flash it to ixtreme 1.4.

I used firmware toolbox. I have original fw and I'll give it a try tomorrow when my friend brings his 360 over. Keep you posted. Thanx

P.S. You guys are very thorough and very informative. From all the Xbox 360 sites I visit I am proud to say this is the best by far. Thanx

Update: Worked just fine . Thanx
