Is Kreon Still The Best For Dumping?

Post by NeoRio »

In reading CoFree's post in December titled "Update on recent bannings, altered C/R timer, affects Kreon", before setting out to buy a Kreon drive on eBay today, I wanted to ask if this is still the best drive to use to make backups. It was reported that some (new) games will give a slightly altered Security Sector file when ripped using a kreon drive. They tried replicating the error with a Samsung drive in 0800 mode with no success (meaning the Samsung drive was better to use for ripping?)

Thanks

its still the best
a lot less trouble than the samsung drive
as long as you check the iso with the ss checker after you should be fine.
they say it dont matter now with the newest firmware but i check anyway and if i get a bad ss file i trash it all and dump till i get a good one.
ive only got 4 bad dump as of now and the next time i dumped it was good.

Thank you. So it's really about checking the dump after to make sure it's good? Even those (new) games that (may) be intentionally set by MS to give bad rips with Kreons, when you re-rip them, you can get them good if you keep trying?

yep

there again i dont think it is M$ making the trouble
i think it was a bug in the code of the firmware in the sh-d162c drive or the firmware the we flash in the 360 drive.
