Flashing Lite on 74 Can't detect ATAPI Drives.

Post by BartV »

Hi there, I'm currently following this tutorial: viewtopic.php?f=197&t=7041" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; because I think I locked up my lite on 74 dvd drive. In jungleflasher 0.1.66 beta version I used my CK3 Pro kit, the usb output and the VIA card to try erasing and writing my dvd drive. When I've tried this the first time the program wrote the banks but after clicking on ATA Output it said it was done but when I installed it into my xbox and put a original disk in it it couldn't read it.

With this tutorial it worked out for me ok to flash my 70 mb flash drive with Iprep using just the plain FAT format. I booted with it in DOS, succeeded to erase it but I can't get any further as this. The program says there are no drives connected. I put the drive in half tray mode manually.

Can anyone give me any direction of what I should do now?

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Do you have the drive in the primary sata port, if you dont then it wont see the drive thats why it could give that error

I put the SATA cable in the back input of the VIA Card. I'm using iprep 9 as in your tutorial and jungleflasher 66 beta.

I have plugged the sata cable in the internal sata port but I don't know why iPrep can't detect the ck3 pro kit.

it wont detect the ck3, it has no need to, as long as you have the right sata port you should be ok. do some screen dumps

BTW, how can I check which SATA port I use (DF00,D800 etc.)?

Your problem is that you dont have the drivers enabled or installed. when you ur unlocking the drive you can have the drivers enabled for your card. thats what is causing you the problems enable or install then and try again make sure your in the primary port. you can see what that is when you open iprep in windows it will say

I posted a link to a iprep screenshot.

The tutorial said you don't need any drivers installed.

The drive appears to be not found when I powercycled it. Also the drivers from the VIA Card are removed (so there is an yellow mark in the device manager). Do I need to FULLY pull the tray out manually when the power is on, then switch off and repower the ck3 pro kit.?

I'm using the usb COM Port on the ck3 pro kit. I noticed that IPrep says it doesn't work with usb based devices. Can this be a problem. If so, does a rs232 to usb converter work?

usb will not work within the iprep program, or any usb - serial converters. You need a straight 9 pin male- female rs232 to get the key within iprep.
