reboot and backup question

Post by sunhouse »

hi guys i hope im in the right place to put this,
anyway what it is
on coffree vid on iprep flashing a sammy or any off the vids really, when he says turn off ya pc and make a back up off your flash stick incase anything go`s wrong. would it be possible to just take the flash stick out and put it in another pc and make a back up and then put it back in and continue.
or do you have to reboot and do it from the pc you are flashing on.
thanks guys!!

no man
that is just what i do.
i boot on my dell for the dump
the whole time i have a different pc on next to me (the one i stream the live gameroom feed on see link http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/livefeed.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )
then after the dump i power down the dell and put the flash in the running pc to copy the backup files.

there is one problem now
with the new ipre you have to take the stuff off the flash or iprep will geek out
the new iprep need to do the whole thing every time
dump,build hacked and flash
or you may have trouble.

sorry dude so what your saying is.
is that when i come to the part where you say "now turn off the pc and make a back up off the flash stick and then reboot and start over basicly) your saying that i cant just take out the flash stick wile the pc is still running and put the flash stick in another pc and back it up on there (so i dont have to turn off the pc im flashing on, and that i can just continue after i put the stick back in)
or do i have to reboot?
also sorry but if your answer is that i do have to reboot, were you saying that i have to delete the stick after iv backed up? because iprep gos a bit bonkers
sorry im just a bit new and need laymen s terms lol

no you can NOT
Think about this man
what iprep does is make a BOOT flash.that is a very small operating system
Its the same as your hard drive in your pc that has windows xp on it that you boot on everyday
if you just unplugged you HD
good lord the pc would go nuts because the operating system was gone

no
BUT
you have to trash everything in the backup folder.leave the backup folder
then boot back on the flash and start over from the dump
but this time you can go to the flash instead of stopping to back up because you have it from the first time.
