Help computer will not recognize hitachi 59dj

Im trying to flash a hitachi 59dj I've managed to put it into mode b using the 2 pin trick, and i'm using a vt6421a sata card, but my computer will not recognize the drive at all neither will jungle flasher, any help would be greatly appreciated

go to device manger in control panel...and scan for new drive...that should do the job...

no that didn't do anything I tried just about everything i could no luck

the hitachi drives can be a bit of a pain. you have to be aggressive with them. i say use the slax 2.1 disc to get it into mode b, that way you know for sure the computer is reading the drive and then go from there. make sure you have portio installed. that makes a difference too.

I've used slax 2.1 but no dice, and thats the thing im not sure if my computer is even reading the drive at all

what does slax say when you boot with the disc? does it spin up?

no I didn't even get the spin up disc error, it just goes through what ever it does but the drive is not in mode b

ight so you're going to have to do a little finagling. i experienced this issue a few times. when you boot with the slax 2.1 disc you need to open and close the tray while booting. do it a number of times, but slax is suppose to send that drive into mode b.

when i go to the hardware manager it always has a code 10 on the sata card saying this device can not start, but if my drive isn't connected to it then it works fine

what type of machine are you using?

lol an emachine running xp and a celeron m processor i'm really starting to think its the computer so i've been looking into getting a usb adapter and using my laptop
