Updating Benq to 1.61 w/iprepr 8.8

hello everyone,
I have a flashed benq. I cannot remember whether it's flashed with ixtreme 1.4, 1.5 or 1.51. I'm looking to upgrade it to 1.61. So here are my questions:

1. The upgrade to 1.61 is just like flashing the Benq from stock right?

2. Can I upgrade to 1.61 using iprep 8.8 by replacing the ixdef file and loading up fw 1.61? I have to use iprep 88 because I don't like jf and any newer versions of iprep simply freeze on me at the dump. So for me iprep 8.8 is the most stable an d the way to go.

that is right
do it just like it has never been flashed
dump,firmtool will build your hacked firmware then flash

but
i would find out way 10.7 iprep dont work
then use it
older iprep need to be uninstalled before you install a newer iprep "fyi"
