restoring back to stock firmware

hey if i restore the stock firmware to a drive like a hitachi is it safe for xbl? would like to know cause i heard you will get banned even you play offline. thanks to anyone who replies back.

the possibility for you to get banned is still there. once you modded the console that made you a target. so you can put it back to stock but that may not change anything. . .
