changing drive from hitachi to samsung

Post by fre4k »

Well, wanted to change my bricked Hitachi 59DJ to samsung ms25..

First of all.. I dumped my Hitachi key...
Then I dumped my samsung orig.bin file and replaced key and spoofed file.. :)
Then I replaced hitachi with samsung.. and flashed it with spoofed key..

Now when I turn my x360 power on I get E66 and 1 red light is blinking (D3) :|
This is just too cruel...

O gdumped samsung original file with iprep.. then changed key and spoofed it with toolbox 4,6..
Then I made a bootable floppy with extreme boot maker.. and added my spoofed file. used extreme 3.3
This is just too cruel...

ok.. this is a common problem for old firmwares since the dashboard update

re-flash & use latest firmware >> ixtreme1.4 ;)

why not flash it with iprep also since you did the dump that way???

I'm off to play COD4 for abit now so i'll leave a list of things you need to make it work.

1) restore the drive back to it's original state:

dos > iprep v6.1
rsam xxxxxxx xxxxx

("x" being the digits you used when taking the original dump)

--------------------------------------

2) obtain the latest firmware & "re-prepare" your flash key/floppy
"make sure you have your previous dump backed up just incase ;)"

win > Iprep v6.1 with Samsung.iXtreme.1.4.rar // prepare destination

--------------------------------------

3) redump the drive & let iprep build the new hacked firmware

dos > iprep
--dsam xxxxxxx xxxxx

--------------------------------------

4) into windows again & back the firmware up

then...

FW toolbox 4.6 //
--change the key
--spoof the drive

Note:
make sure you edit the hacked firmware... not the original dump!
it's the hacked firmware you will be flashing remember ;)
--------------------------------------

5) back into dos & flash the spoofed & key modified firmware

dos > Iprep v6.1
--fsam xxxxxxx xxxxx

yep.. thats cus the hacked samsung firmware uses a "firmware lock"

u need the enable0800 disc to unlock it.. download it & burn it to a DL disc
then pop it in the xbox for 10secs (no more).. it will unlock the drive ;)

Then dump/flash away

ps.. the drive does not need to be connected to the xbox sata for the enable0800 to work

It will work @ the dos prompt in iprep connected to nothing ;)

Fre4k

what drive are you trying to get back in.
if it the samsung .you will most likely need to do the 10 sec trick to get back in the drive.
im not sure was firmware they put that in but its somewhere around 30 (i think)

start using iprep101 v006.1
at least till we get this strait.

first try to do a restore on the samsung dvd drive.look over this.

you should still have a was bin of the hit drive firmware.
you will need the keys of these firmware at least

you need the new ixdef file sounds like. i forget what button it is, options or tools, but do a "check for updates" and it will download the new def file and you should be ok.

ixdef is up to date..
I think I`m doing something wrong with spoofing

1. I dump my orig key
2. I change key ant spoof original firmware..
3. flash it

What file do I need to spoof ? orig file or xtreme file ?
This is just too cruel...
