I have a console that was flashed a while back. The unit came with a lite on drive and at the time, they weren't flashable but the keys were retreivable. The peron that modded my console flashed a Hitachi drive to spoof a Lite Drive.
My question is, is there a tutorial to upgrade the firmware on a spoofed drive even though I don't have the original dump?
Thanks,

Re: Hitachi spoof flashng
You don't need the original dump. You can do it on Jungleflasher under the HItachi tab. I don't believe there's any tutorials on it, but I did post up something about spoofing hit drives into a liteon here's the link. Post back if you have any problems.

EDIT:
I forgot to add....
to get the key, just do what you would do for any hit drive.

Thanks for the reply.
So, do I need to unlock the drive or do I just read the drive? From there I would use FirmwareTool 32 tab to inject the read info to the new firmware and then just write to drive?
I have never done a Hitachi drive before. Sammy's, lite-on and Benq's are pretty straight forward but the Hitachi's seem to be very complicated.
Also, the Hitachi I have is a 79.
Thanks for your help.

ps. what do you mean by "hit drive"?

Re: Hitachi spoof flashng
Yeah, you definitely want to unlock after going into mode b.
Then, dump it in the hitachi tab
click flash ixtreme
click flash spoof data
and choose whatever drive revision you're liteon was spoofed as
that should do it.
hit = hitachi

Re: Hitachi spoof flashng
I am about to flash my Hitachi drive and noticed when detected in Jungleflasher that it shows as a Lite-On drive and not Hitachi. Is this normal as the Hitachi is spoofed to be a Lite-On? Also, do I have to use a Lite-On FW or Hitachi FW?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Hitachi spoof flashng
Yes thats normal, you still need to use hitachi firmware.
Each fw has a unique language, so if you flashed lite-on FW to a hitachi drive they both 'speak' different languages and you would end up with a bricked drive.
