Lite-On 74850c help

Post by bigblase »

Hey Guys
I need some help. I bought a CK3+Probe which worked fine for the first time. For the second time I wanted to reflash a Lite-on, I hooked up everything and the ck3 lit up meaning that it works and get electricity. However, the jungleflasher did not recognized the drive and it did not ejected the tray when pressing the eject button on the CK. I do not understand why as I treat the stuff properly that is I do not hit it and I only put it away after flashing successfully a drive. Also, the ck3 worked fine with the other (green) cable without the spear. Is it possible that is was because the Lite-on was already flashed once? Or my Windows XP is getting bad? Or the wire is broken?(I do not think so as it worked fine the 1st time,I put it away, did not work 2nd time)
Thank you very much in advance

if you are going to reflash your liteon and you have all the files from the first flash just put your dummy file in the the source and what ever ixtreme firmware you want to use in target then spoof to target save the file then go to flash with the file you just saved

I have the original .bin files and my question is: "Do I need a connectivity kit to flash the new ix, or can I just use the Xbox to power everything?"

Thanks!

once you have ixtreme firmware on the lite-on you dont HAVE to have the ck3 but
it makes it a lot easier to get the drive in the half open state.

Awesome! Thanks!! Another question if I may. I currently have a 7400 series lite-on drive with Ix 1.51, if I wish to re-read the DVD Drive Key, do I need to treat it as if I have never flashed the drive before, by bridging the r707 pins or using the probe with the connectivity kit?

I am thinking this is the way to go as I want to ensure that I have the appropriate DVD key.

FYI... After fighting with the PortIo32 drivers and the VIA Drivers, I was finally successful in another flashing, this time I used JungleFlasher.

Props go out to all who make this possible; CoFree for this informative forum, Klutsh for iPrep, TeamJungle for JungleFlasher, and of course saving the best for last, the Man who is undoubtedly responsible for iXtreme, the man himself "C4E". I as well as other are very greatful, and wish the team, whoever it now comprises all the best for 2010.
