XBOX 360 Game Updates

Ok i have two 360's one unmodded and one being modded. My Story is that i had borrowed Assassin's Creed from my friend and when i started the game it had asked for me to update and if not i will not be connected to to XBOX Live now i updated on my Console because it's not modded but if i was to do the same thing with my modded console and update the game will my console be banned or will it just update. Please can some one help me answer this.

you'll be fine, we all have the newest updates from Live and have played Assassin's Creed. Go for it.

Make sure you have the latest iextreme fw in your boxes. You can still be banned if you are using the older fw. Also there is never any guarantee that you will not be banned. You will just have to decide if you are willing to take the chance.

if that game ass creed wants a update you have to take it.
the update is for the console nothing else.
this is for the first time some games are put in the console rock band did the same thing.
just to show you something.unplug your cat5 cable.
put in the game,it will tell you the same thing say yes to the update and watch it work.
the game updates come from the disc not from xbox live.you can get a patch update that is for a game and yes that comes from xbox live.

this is why i try to take the game update with a orig game not a backup.although i have took many with a backup disc.

I don't think that's what they are saying. Though it is not a known science, it is pretty obvious that MS does not Ban immediately "because they detected that at 18:07 GMT so-and-so connected to Live with a modded system"

Furthermore I don't see how you could update your Console at all if you are not connected to the net. The safest way to do the game updates is to have the original game in the Console when you do it...though it appears that having a (well made...personal) copy of the game in the Console also works.

Some games have updates on the game disk. When you put the game in, it runs the update and if you need it, it tells you, otherwise it just runs the game. Thats how sometimes you'll be asked to update while not connected to live.
