Hello, just wanted to be clear on this: I have some old game rips (ISOs) on my HD...all done from my original games, using a Kreon drive and with XBC. These old game ISOs are ssv1 when I check them with abgx. If I want to burn these ISOs again to disc and safely use them on Live, do I need to patch them with ssv2 first?
It just seems that if the games are older (Wave 2, etc)...aren't the originals also ssv1 and not ssv2?
Thanks, Neo
Do You Need To Update ssv2 On Old Game Rips?
Re: Do You Need To Update ssv2 On Old Game Rips?
this is just me but
i would go with my original rip
as long as i new the angle was good.
until someone way up the food chain shows me different
all my old iso will stay just the way they are.
i have played them onlive before and AFTER the big ban wave.
and been fine
there is a point in time with some games that
im not 100% sure what they should be
so best of luck there
sorry

Re: Do You Need To Update ssv2 On Old Game Rips?
1, 2 and possibly 3 do not need to be ssv2.
1, 2 and 3 the angles didnt change so the angle your kreon drive gave you would be right. In the newer waves, the angles are different and need to be measured (only a 360 drive can measure, kreon's dont, kreon's have a pre-programmed response for the angle measurement because the angles were always the same)
At least thats my understanding. Plus I think with waves 1, 2 and possibly 3 if you rip with a 360 drive you'll get a ssv1 anyways.

Thanks for the heads up, guys. I was getting worried that I'd need to re-rip and re-burn all my old backups! I'll take your word for it and keep my old Wave 1/2 (and maybe 3) games the way they are.
CoFree, you have played your old Wave 1/2 backups after the ban wave on Live with a newly flashed 360 and been fine?

I have, and there have been no problems.
Sorry, 1 and 2 are the only waves that are safe as ssv1. wave 3, 4 , 5, 6 and up all need to be ssv2.

Run it through abgx, it will say SS Version: 'x' near the top of the window.mallardman wrote:Whats the best way to tell what wave you have??

Mall, go here http://www.abgx360.net/verified.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and type in the name of your game...you'll see what wave it is in the far right column.mallardman wrote:Whats the best way to tell what wave you have??
Kind Regards
