Re: liteon 16d2s question
Well that depends on which liteon you have, look at the sticker on the top of the drive. what is the series number, ie... 7XXX, 8XXX, 9xxxx? once you tell us that we can point you in the right direction.

If you have an 8 series, look at the MFR of the drive as well.

Re: liteon 16d2s question
Right above/below the HW ver: A0A2 it should say FW ver: xxxxxC
What is the FW, if it says 83850C then its an 8 series, very likely its v2. Which means you will need to follow a 9 series guide.

Re: liteon 16d2s question
k i checked it out and the fw ver:93450c.......so am assuming it not a 8 series cuz it not match ur numbers....so wha would i need to use to unlock the keys and wha guide can i follow if it possible.

Re: liteon 16d2s question
So its a 9 series.
You need a CK3, probe v2, or LT switch. You will need to cut a couple traces, and bridge them with either the lt switch, or the probe.
Go to youtube, search up hacking jungle, shootsteel has made a couple videos on flashing a 9 series lite-on, you should check them out.
Good luck!

Re: liteon 16d2s question
k thanks ive looked into it and read the guides about he cut and trace methods i have to do on the drive..and then i read on and seen that they got the new ck3 prob v2 that solderless for the 9 series..but i cant find a up to date guide on them using it..kinda confused..if i get the prob v2 and the ck3 do i still need the LT switch..? cuz i read u got solder the LT switch to the drive itself..is the cut and trace the way to connect the LT switch to the drive confused on tha part...

Re: liteon 16d2s question
You have to cut traces either way.
If you get the probe you dont need the LT switch.
If you get the probe, after you cut the traces and have dumped the drive etc, you can resolder the traces, or use the conductive glue included with the probe to fix the cuts.
