What should I do?

Post by JAtchley80 »

I just realized tonight that my old modded Xbox never got hit by the banwave. I got the Samsung box modded in late 2008 or early 2009, and I'm unsure of the FW version. Just a few hours ago I created a secondary live account, updated the console to the new live update and put in a couple old backup games I had on hand (MLB 2k8 and NFS Underground). Both games read without an issue. With all that said... Should I update the LT or stick with what I got, and wave games back to wave 1 to play my backups? I know there isn't a perfect answer out there, but some input would be helpful.

Too make a long story short... The Samsung had the famous drive ejecting and reading issues, so I had my Elite modded at that time to avoid the Samsung headache. After getting my Elite hit by the banwave last year, I just assumed that the Samsung had got taken out also. However, tonight a buddy mentioned to me on how the Sammys made it through the banwaves............

well i think there is a perfect answer ;)
yes i would update to the latest LT firmware
being as its a samsung it should not be affected by the new ap25 checks that are coming on the new games
also keep in mind that just because it did not get banned the last time you went on live does not mean it wont get banned the next time it goes on live :?

Personally, I'd keep that console stock for now, see how this all play's out then flash it, and put it online.

that is the only reason i said update
but
yea for sure
if it stock dont flash crap
till after this new update is under control
with the new ap25 checks and all
even if samsung is not affected
i would not flash a stock console right not

Sorry, yea it appears to be flashed, I mean, just keep it as it is, sitting offline. Who knows just going online to take the update may have flagged the console.

I'd update for sure seeing as its probably on 1.6
