Upgrade to AP25 via Thread by Thread Help
Hey all, I spoke with HaggardSmurf about having him help me do the ugprade myself. He suggested I make this thread. Well, I'm here to give it a go.
Sadilus upgraded my 360 originally, not sure which drive I have, I PM'ed him asking. I wonder if there is a way to find out without unscrewing the 360.
Okay guys, let's begin! Where to start?

Well put in an ap 2.5 game and try and play it
If it play's
Your drive is either hitachi or samsung
If not
it's benq or lite-on
You can also check the drive tray, or wire.

What would be the next step after verifying the drive?

Next step would be to disassemble the 360 to verify.
Good thing is since your drive was previously flashed (with a FW older than LT) you can dummy from ixtreme and don't need to mra/probe the drive.
So once you disassemble your going to want to connect the drive to your computer, and see if it's detected.
(Plug the drive into your comp's sata port, connect the drive power cable into the xbox and turn the 360 on, then check all the port's in jungle flasher to see if your drive is detected)

Re: Upgrade to AP25 via Thread by Thread Help
so its a Lite-on 74850c?
Try connecting it to your motherboard and see if you can see the drive in jungle flasher or iprep. (Connect your drive to your xbox, except instead of the xbox sata cable, use a sata cable that is plugged into your motherboard.)
Power on the drive (by turning on the xbox, with the metal xbox chassis grounded to your pc case) then launch jungle flasher, and go through the port's and see if it can see your drive.

ok, i installed jungleflasher 0.177 (Beta 179) and it starts up saying, No components were found during enumeration.
at this point, i should have the xbox dvd drive plugged into the pc?

connect drive to pc as haggardsmurf said, try to use a primary sata port.power on drive then start up jungleflasher.goto dvdkey tab and cycle thru the ports.normally drive is found on first one but cycle thru them all.there is a drop down arrow next to ports,so select each in turn.
im guessing you dont have a via sata card?or a ck3?

i did connect it. i tried primary sata port. when you say power on the drive, do you mean press the xbox power button to turn it on? what other way am i supposed to power the drive on? no via or ck3, just onboard sata from an asus m3n-ht deluxe motherboard.sas67 wrote:connect drive to pc as haggardsmurf said, try to use a primary sata port.power on drive then start up jungleflasher.goto dvdkey tab and cycle thru the ports.normally drive is found on first one but cycle thru them all.there is a drop down arrow next to ports,so select each in turn.

Yep, power on the 360, and that will power on the drive.
You can ejecting the tray, pulling the power cable from the back of the drive, then pushing the tray closed a little bit more than half way (about 2/3) and then putting the power cable back in. Now you can try to find it in the drop down, cycle through all the port's listed and see if you can find it.
If not, you can try switching sata port's if you have another one free try it.
You can also try iprep, it may be able to find the drive.
