as long as the files you have are good
and the drive is just locked up and not bricked
then yea he should be able to fix it
but until he get a hold of it and takes it apart
no one can know

why would i drive just lock up like that?

The reason is windows.

When you plug in the drive to your sata windows tries to recognize it, and install drivers for it.

When you erase the drive, the flash chip contain's no information, so windows notices the connection of whichever port your drive was on has changed. So it poll's the drive to try and get some information, but the drive has no information on it. So it's basically stuck in a loop.

That's why lot's of people have to use iPrep, because with dos, nothing poll's the drive, your communicating with the drive on a simplified basis, nothing to interfear.

Your drive should easily be 'unbricked' as lite-ons are the easiest to recover, the only way to truely brick the drive is by frying it. Anyhow like cofree said, as long as you have the key it should be recoverable.
