I am not fully understanding the method of updating the dash via USB.. I have 2 flashed hitachi's and only one HD. So is the issue just if you update with a HD in will Microsoft be able to ban the HD as well when it is swapped between systems and detect other flashed consoles? Also I have never flashed to stock using hitachi's in the past and I have never had an issue. Is there really any evidence to support that it helps in any way or is this basically for Lite On drives? Also my second hitachi sometimes has issues reading discs and I can't understand any other reason other than an issue with the laser.. Could I use a laser out of any xbox drive or would it have to be limited to the hitachi of that version? (it's a 48 I believe).

I know i'm all over the place here so sorry for the inconsistancy.

Possibly a dumb curiousity, but I am wondering since Black Ops pushed out that update on the game some weeks ago, if its related. I didn't take it if it does matter, however, as few have pointed out that it is funny how the top 3 Online played games are the ones being controlled. 2 system policy is the best suggestion for those who must have Live without all the interruptions from the cat and mouse(MvsC4EVA) back and forth. Especially with Geohot and the PS3 feud out in the Open. I expect many more updates to start more regularly for M :|

From Team Xecuter
Confirmed:
After New Dash Update 12625 the following games do not boot (Black Screen):

Black Ops
Modern Warfare 2
Halo Reach

This is an AP2.5 Update so naturally this does not affect non AP2.5 DVD drives (Early Hitachi & Samsung).

If you had LT+ flashed then you will NOT be flagged for a possible ban (good Job c4eva !).

If you did not have LT+ flashed and you tried to boot these games as backups then you are probably flagged for a ban.

AP2.5 Data both PAL and NTSC have been extracted (thanks to c4 and k3) and c4 is now working on the patches and testing will commence.

There will be no need for a firmware update.

We recommend you do not update yet until there is a working method tested and released.
This is confirmed update and info as of 20th Jan 16:43 GMT

What do you mean there will be no need for a firmware update?

That means that no new firmware will need to be made and flashed on to drive. If you have the latest on your drive already then your alright.

Latest Firmwares:
BenQ LT_Plus all versions
Lite-On LT_Plus
74850
83850v1
83850v2
93450
Hitachi v1.1 all versions
versions 78/79 for AP2.5
versions 59 and lower (32, 36, 40, 46, 47, 58, 59) do not have AP2.5, but were updated to conform to LT+ standard.
Samsung UNNEEDED all versions of Samsung do not have AP2.5, therefore LT+ firmware for these drives is unnecessary.

Ok now we are somewhat on the same page. I have the latest FW flashed on my hitachi so why would this update be a problem if you are saying that they won't be making a new FW?

if you have backups of your games with AP2.5 those are now coasters. They will be making patches for the games,so Verbatim is going to be getting a big order soon.

Right, I figured that was the case but I never assume anything anymore.. So even if I try to load the AP 2.5 games now would that flag me or will I be safe since I have the LT+ FW?

Hitachi LT+ v1.1 Protects console from logging AP25 violation for a period of 3 minutes, turn off/on console on black screen bootup before your 3 minutes is up.

No need to download patches, everything is fixed with ABGX now. Just run your ISO thru ABGX as you usually do when you make a back up of a new game, then burn as always. ABGX will fix the AP25 easy as pie. Thanks to all in the scene who helped us with this so quickly. Great job!
