Iprep keeps on sayin "not valid firmware", cant detect drive

Post by abs1991 »

Hi there,

yesterday i tried to update the firmware using jungleflasher on my 74850c drive, but i erased the firmware. i saved the dummy.bin file and key and stuff.

now my drive wont do anything wont open, and jungleflasher cant find my drive :o

i made a firmware (bit of a newbee with that, actually with everything lol ) :) and tried to load on to iprep.

But keeps on saying "not valid firmware", i have tried everything updating iprep to 12.1 ver, tried to update iprep definitions. But just wont work,

Please help, i have my orginal key and stuff. be so grateful.

Thanks

as long as you have the dummy.bin and you know its good you should be able to load that into JF as Source and load Lt+ as target spoof target as and then flash that to the drive. but if your going to use Iprep you need to rename the file to L74CFW.bin and put that in a folder on your usb 1234567 12345 place the L74cfw.bin in that folder start Iprep L74 1234567 12345 W let it write to the drive should work

Might be an old post but...

I have had this problem before in the past. Not sure how anyone else solves it but I have found myself (trial and error) that certain versions of iPrep only load certain versions of FW. The first time this happened to me I had remembered in the past using an older version of iPrep (1.6 I believe) that worked with iXtreme 1.5. (again, trying to remember the exact number but you catch my drift) so I fired up the old iPrep and followed the directions for it. After I had it all set up on my USB stick I simply named my newly created CFW (that I made in the latest version of JF) to what ever the iPrep 1.6 required and placed it in the proper folder on the USB stick (dumping the stock one on there first, NOT over writing it) and went from there.

Worked for me and I have done it this way many times since. :)

BTW - there are shortcuts you can use for iPrep (not sure about all versions) that lets you get right to the flashing part after iPrep boots if you so desire.
