Some 360s incompatible with new dash
Re: Some 360s incompatible with new dash
so should we take the update (my drive has the last LT plus) and let the update restore the FW back to the original FW then update to LT 1.9? OR should we be updating to LT 1.9 before accepting the update? thanks in advance guys
Re: Some 360s incompatible with new dash
the way i see it make sure you have your keys etc from your last firmware flash then flash back to original firmware take the update then flash back with the new lt 1.9 should be good to go then
Re: Some 360s incompatible with new dash
Whats being recommended is that you flash back to stock firmware, update the xbox then flash to 1.9. There should be stock firmware with the downloaded files for the latest 1.9. Also you should save your 32 digit key for the drive in case you cant retrieve it after the update.lash33 wrote:so should we take the update (my drive has the last LT plus) and let the update restore the FW back to the original FW then update to LT 1.9? Re: Some 360s incompatible with new dash
LT+ v1.9 RELEASED This version is for dashboard version 2.0.13146.0 – It is based on the latest firmware as updated by the recent dashboard update. It supports XGD3 originals, but not XGD3 backups ..................... so does this mean that we're not safe to play backups on live? only original games? just not sure what xgd3 means

Re: Some 360s incompatible with new dash
xgd3 is basically a new format for disc. It stands for xbox game disc 3. The new firmware that was loaded along with the new dashboard update makes it possible for your xbox to read these disc(though there arent any xgd3 games yet), without the update your xbox can only read xgd2 disc.bsammy wrote:LT+ v1.9 RELEASED This version is for dashboard version 2.0.13146.0 – It is based on the latest firmware as updated by the recent dashboard update. The biggest changes with xgd3 is that there will be about 1gig more space available for the game, space which was previously set aside for security I believe. Also it makes it possible for the xbox to perform random security checks on the disc instead of checking only when the game is loaded, which is what xgd2 does.
So with the firmware it breaks down like this:
1.1 not compatible with new dash(not live safe) or xgd3 but reads older burned games,
1.9 compatible with new dash(live safe supposedly), can read original xgd3 but not burned
2.0 same as above but will read burned games which use xgd3.
Re: Some 360s incompatible with new dash
should i care about this update?
the only ap2.5 games i have are retail copys, so i could just flash back to LT?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Some 360s incompatible with new dash
The Dashboard update really only makes your system compatible with the xgd3 format. As far as I know the xgd3 games wont be coming out till later in the year, so until those start showing up you dont need the update unless you want to play online, and by the time xgd3 titles hit the shelves c4eva will most likely have the firmware ready for them you may have to update and reflash at that point.woshichun wrote:should i care about this update?

Re: Some 360s incompatible with new dash
i wonder this alot if those guys that are doing the modding can pull keys out to replace them with new ones so they can return online after being banned why are we fighting this can we just assign our x-boxes to use a different live server so that all the hackers can play on one and all the legit people stay on the real live i just wonder if its possible there's a program online doing it for p/c users on old games that will allow people to play each other works like a big lan game just over the internet instead of local all of this constant modding stuff would be over flash your drives back to legit so they can keep reading new games but make your x-box play on a different server...
been using a legit box for about 6 months i love using my old hacked x-box "r.i.p" but have not bothered even trying using the new c.f.w.'s i do miss playing the game for free but that's why i buy my games on craigs-list always around 10-20 bucks cheaper than at the store even sometimes when they come out new bought cod b/o for 30 bucks

you will need to flash back to stock\the re-flash to the latest hacked firmware
then abgx360 will need o repatch your game iso that have the ap25 check
and you will be good to go
on all of my offline consoles
i do all my dash updates with a usb flash

Re: Some 360s incompatible with new dash
Just to clarify, you do not need to flash back to stock if you take the update. The update will flash to stock for you (well, an updated version of stock). I have done this on three consoles so far, and all flashed fine after the update. I recommend looking up the PMT version of flashing, that is what you will need to flash with after the update (or MRA).
Re: Some 360s incompatible with new dash
yea
you dont have to
but i just do it in the hope it does not flag the console in some kind of way
that it had a hacked firmware on it
