you can but
most people cant get a spoofed drive to play new ap25 games

you use jungle flasher to do it

open source would be your samsung firmware
and
your target firmware would be the hit firmware.

you have to put the firmware in the drive that was made for the drive

lets say
you have a console that had a hit drive in it
and you want to put in a samsung drive because the hit drive is bad
you flash the samsung drive with the latest hacked firmware and spoof it as a hit drive
that way when the console looks for its hit drive
the samsung will tell the console its a hit drive

i hope you can follow that :D

Well your thread title is wrong, this thread should be named hitachi to samsung.

All you need to keep in mind is you will never be flashing samsung firmware to the hitachi drive, and vice versa. You never flash any firmware to a drive unless it is made for it.

What you are actually doing is flashing the key from the samsung into the hitachi. The key is basically the password for the console. You are also flashing over a couple identification string's to the drive. So when the console looks what drive is connected it comes back as whatever you spoofed it as. (in this case a samsung)

Anyhow, like cofree said its a hit/miss with spoofing now, some console's dont care and others will crack down and not let you boot the game.

What you want to do is read the samsung drive, save the OFW. Then download the latest ixtreme for the hitachi, open jungle flasher load the samsung OFW as source, and ixtreme for hitachi as target, hit the spoof button and proceed to flashing the hitachi. Then cross your fingers and hope you can play ap 2.5 games.
