My new computer
THE RED BEAST
intel i5-2400 quid core 3.10
msi P67A-C43 B3 motherboard
kinkston hyper x DDR3 1600 2GBx4
GeForce GTX 280 graphics card
cooler master 600w power supply
cooler master 922 HAF case
this is my first complete build. was not wanting a gaming computer just a really good desktop.
Any next time info or upgrade info would be appreciated.

I'd suggest picking up an SSD, you dont know what your missing.
You need to remember a HDD is a bottleneck as it can only read data so fast. Therefore you could have huge processing power, but the data is being held up by the slow reads on the HDD.
I know you said this is just a high end desktop, but if you install windows on an SSD and a few core applications like browsers itunes photoshop etc etc you will notice a huge speed increase. SSD's are getting quite cheap now so imo its good to invest in one.
(If your just going to install windows on it and a few core applications i'd go for a 50-60 gb drive no need for a large 200gb drive theyre just overkill, however the larger the size of the SSD generally the faster it will be, or closer to spec at least.)

ya i had thought about it too but i was on a budget that was $400 than it went to $500 then $600, u all know how it is....

Only issue is booting. Some board's are unable to boot from a PCI device.
Some of the revodrives are unreal in the speed they can attain. They are basically like 5+ SSD's setup in raid 0 which gives the huge read write speeds.
