Coolrunner TX RGH chip

I have installed 3 of these and used a 4th to recover dvd keys, and i am impressed. This chip is fairly easy to install if you have soldering skill, and will enable the same features as a jtag to almost any console except the oldest and newest (xenon and corona boards). Boot time varies based on mobo, but the phats work almost instantaneously while the slims take about 10 seconds (avg) to boot (zephyrs suck, they may or may not work). I have used the 4th chip to recover dvd and cpu keys from 4 mobo's so far, making them usable again since they didn't come with a dvd drive when i got them. Cost is $20 per chip plus shipping. You will need something to program the chip with, I use the nandx by TX, but there are tutorials out there for building your own cable using LPT (ughh, talk about slow...).

Benefits of JTAG/RGH: play all backups from external hd (or internal if you have room) with no need to insert original disc (faster loading, no scratches to original disc), can play unsigned code for homebrew apps. Recover lost dvd keys for your 360. Mod and skin your box to look cooler than anyone else on the block.

Overall, this is an excellent investment if you keep a second xbox for offline play.

Yes if you could Please put up a good video tut or a nice pic step by step one that would be great I have several of them with no dvd drives from ebay and could use this to get these going thanks great work

Well, been waiting to post back to this because it seems like every few weeks the programs used to perform the hack change, and I end up using 3 different programs to actually get the hack done.

Newly released is the J-runner program, it is very similar to jungleflash (made by the same peeps), it is an all in one program for completing the jtag or rgh hacks.

Items used for the install/programming are the tx nand-x usb nand programmer, the ck3-i (i used the maximus 360 extractor pro with homemade programming cable, used to program the tx coolrunner), and a clpd chip (I used the tx coolrunner rev b).

Not necessarily trying to plug tx, but their products work. The only reason I didn't use the ck3-i is that i already own 2 maximus 360 extractors, and am stubborn that way.
Next I will find the actual soldering diagrams and post them, then post a link to the freestyle dashboard install iso disc...

Do not cut excess wire, it is that length for a reason. Just loop it like this and secure it.

Install points for the nand-x, used to read/write to the nand, also to program the coolrunner chip. Nand-x does not stay installed; once hacked, the read/write can be done by homebrew programs from hacked dashboard.

Here are the points for the phat. Look at the two boxes labelled nand to get relative position on the board, don't worry about the jtag points.
